Weymouth Museum
Holding many interesting collections on Weymouth’s social, economic and physical local history, the Weymouth museum is located on the first floor of the brewers Quay and easily reached on foot from the centre of Weymouth.
Radipole Lake
This RSPB affiliated lake is the place to head if you like to bird watch. Offering visitors the chance to view rare birds which include the Bittern and Pochard. There is also a visitor centre located next to the lake where you can learn about the species that live there. The lake is located within a short walking distance of Weymouth train station.
The Weymouth to Bridport walk via the coast
An impressive 24 ½ mile walk from Weymouth to Bridport in which you can take in the scenic Chesil beach at your own pace. Based along the route is an 18th century Inn which allows visitors to stay overnight.
Monkey World
A sanctuary for primates, Monkey World has over numerous different types of species from all over the world. Monkey World is open throughout the year and is situated close to Wool train station.
Brownsea Island
Located at the mouth of Poole Harbour, Brownsea Island has been a nature reserve for a number of years. Famous for the birth of scouting & guiding Brownsea Island is still a haven for nature, including red squirrels, Sika Deer and wading birds. Via boat you can get from Poole Quay to Sandbanks.
